I am an evolutionary biologist in Batavia, NY. I hold a PhD in evolution, ecology, and behavior from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN and have conducted research, taught, and written on evolution, genomics, and science education. I currently lecture on evolutionary biology at SUNY Brockport in Brockport, New York and on statistics and genetics at SUNY Geneseo in Geneseo, New York.

My research on evolution and genomics has been published in scientific journals like Molecular Biology and Evolution and Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology. I have also written articles on biology and society that have appeared in popular magazines like Current Affairs and Salon.
